Give new life to your books

If you're willing to part with them, we would love to have them! There are a few things to keep in mind:

We do not pay cash for books. The credit that you earn will be equal to 60% of the retail price of the book.

We keep track of your credit in our database and your credit never expires!

We accept a variety of used books, both fiction & non-fiction. However, we do not take:

Hardcover books that are missing their dust jackets
Textbooks, encyclopedias, or reference books
"Ex-library" books with plastic covering
Books that spread hate or harmful ideologies—no transphobic “manifestos,” no racist screeds, no political propaganda built on fear or exclusion.
Damaged books, including those with missing or significantly damaged covers, water damage/stains, mold, or mildew.

We may refuse books for any reason, including the book's popularity, age, or condition, or if we are overstocked on the title.

We do our best to process your books as quickly as possible so that you can use your credit right away, but please understand that the review process takes time and depends on how many books you bring in. Feel free to browse or even come back later to see what you've earned.

If you leave your books with us for review, we will call you with your credit amount and keep any unaccepted items aside for you to pick up. Pick up must occur within 3 business days otherwise the books will be donated. If you do not want unaccepted books back just let us know!

What happens to the books we don't take?

Any books that we are unable to accept will be donated to a variety of local charities or the Pierce County Library.
